Nothing

The earthy sombre tones
that once made my world
Turned into pinks and olives
Hues have changed…
Unknown are the reasons..
Unspoken are those sweet words..

I hope you dance.

Straight to the point. I am going to talk about the non- profit organisation working in India- TEACH FOR INDIA. ‘Teach for India’ is a part of the global initiative ‘Teach for All’ which works on improving education for kids across the countries.
Yesterday, I attended a presentation by the organization which happened to be inspirational and motivating. It started with the figures showing the percentage of children in India who are lucky enough to complete the primary education and higher studies. It was startling for me and my friends who were assembled there. About 90% of India's younger generation do not complete their primary education and cannot even enroll for college education.
This makes everyone who can go to college fortunate well enough that we can manage to buy a new textbook when it is needed. Remember how we used to cry for new bags, water bottles and umbrellas every time the school reopens after vacations. Now think about those unfortunate kids who are not getting education not even primary level, who dwells in the slums. How would an economy progress if the kids, tomorrow's citizens are not getting educated?
The organization works on providing education to that unfortunate section of the society by recruiting graduates as a part of their paid fellowship program. After seeing the whole interactive presentation, we were sure that this organization surely made a drastic change in many people’s lives and brought smile to their faces. They showed us the story of a girl, Jyoti, who belongs to the slums of Mumbai from her childhood to where she has reached now. She was little when she was brought under the hands of TEACH FOR INDIA. She was not confident, couldn’t speak English well, couldn’t even dream high. Now, she is shown to speak in English in front of a large crowd about how this organization and her teacher have helped her to reach till here. She is currently studying in St. Xavier’s college, Mumbai.
Now, it is our chance- to help the organization, to help these kids, to help our country’s future. We, as today’s young generation can work to erase the educational inequity which will surely affect our country’s’ tomorrow adversely. As the organization’s motto says; when it rains, you are given a chance to sit out or dance. I hope you dance. I hope you dance.

Every other moment...

So some day or the other you meet some people in your life who happens to be special. You kind of get used to them. You feel like you cant't just live without them. Life is just incomplete without them. But that's because they have been a part of your life for a long time. Those people have become your habits and you can always change your habits.
Like habits, they will be somewhere deep inside you. They may get back to you.Its when you understand that life is more valuable than you to wait for your habits to reconcile and your hopes to bloom. Because every other moment gone for tears is just gone...

Little girl of Trinidad

This is the childish poem I have talked about. Sorry for taking a long time.

Courtesy: Internet
For all I know
In the city of Trinidad
There was a girl who waited for her Dad

Every night
Till he comes from island
The girl played with stars and sand

Once he reaches home
With his bag full of lilies
He made her sleep with bedtime stories

Those beautiful lilies
He made a garland neat and fair
And kept it inside her hair

With those lilies
With his love, only then was the girl
Able to sleep and dream well

A pretty cool winter day
The girl is a pretty bride
Kissed her groom with love and pride

Now that her Dad is gone far away into the stars
She had put lilies in her hair just to feel her first love…

Ahem...what should be the title???

So, I am very much back to my blog. I had to stay away a few days.
I had been too carried away with Internship and my aunt going for a tour. (I had to help with the packing and cooking and eating.)
Nowadays, after the whole session of snoozed mornings, jam-packed trains, running after buses and a whole lot of walking, what left over is actually another version of me. The poor country geek girl can only sleep and take rest.
As a newcomer in blogging, I searched in internet the ways to popularize your blog. It said:
·         we have to keep on blogging and blogging first no matter somebody reads it or not. I was not quite able to stick to that this week.
·         Love your blog- that I do.
·         Decorate your blog- Take care of the display and layout. I have tried too many layouts and finally settled with the current one because I don’t have time to make one more. Nobody has even commented on it.
·         Interesting subjects- Talk about interesting subjects in a comfortable language. I don’t know how good I am in this.
·         Sharing- No facebook and twitter for me. I won’t share it myself.
According to somebody, a blog will popularize if I follow these rules. I don’t believe in keeping RULES. Maybe I will have to end my blogging in future due to lack of readers. But I will really really try to keep this blog live for long and long.
Today, I don’t have anything interesting to post(due to lack of creativity when you are really sleepy you may say) but soon  will come up with a very childish poem I am working on..
See you soon.:)

What I talk about when I talk about Blogging.

Blogging has really addicted me than I expected. I am like a huggies baby with curly hair crying for more and more ice cream. I check my blog many times a day, think about my posts and check if there are any comments or some movement in the blog. There happens to be nothing. Right now: no followers and no comments. The blog still remains to be my personal diary.

Blogging has really helped me pass my time when I have no work in the office. To be with someone whom you can tell anything you see and think is good. I currently don’t have someone like that in my life. And I have promised someone that I won’t write anything on my diary (I still write a little rubbish in that). So I only have my blog to tell whatever I feel to.

I read a lot. I like reading anything and everything from newspapers, brochures, blogs and books. Once, I read Haruki Murakami’s “WHAT I TALK ABOUT WHEN I TALK ABOUT RUNNING” (He is one of my favourite authors). The book is all about how Haruki Murakami started running and how running is a part of his life. He owned a bar which had a good business. He left that good-going business for being a writer-just to concentrate more on writing. Not many of his friends and relatives supported the idea. Still, he followed his mind and luckily, his wife was quite supportive. He also talks about how running helps him in the whole ideation and writing process. The book is a good-read.

I myself was very confused after my 12th about my further studies. I was too interested in literature from my childhood and my dad also wanted me to join graduation classes for literature. I somehow got this fashion thing in my mind and had interest in literature as well. I gave the entrance exam for both options and got in both to my surprise. Both being reputed national institutes, I was more confused. Finally, I ended up with fashion.
Still, literature remains to be a part of my life and I plan to study literature in my future. Till then, maybe I can read more and more books and post more and more.

Pantone 361 C

Today, we are taking a Mumbai local train. I am not specifying any train or route. Let it be any silly train. Get in, have a seat and be comfortable. Let it be first class or second class. Let it be general or ladies compartment. No problem because the class or gender really doesn’t matter. Now, wait for the train to reach any bridge. You will surely find someone throwing something outside the train. I have seen some people praying when the train reaches near the sea but still they throw garbage into it.
Yesterday it was World Environment Day. I happened to be in a local train and saw a seemingly well educated and sophisticated girl throwing plastic into the sea. Why can’t they understand that they are doing wrong for the environment? It’s not that they don’t know about pollution and its side effects. A class 5 student knows about pollution and what it is doing to the earth. I can swear that I haven’t done any wrong by throwing plastic or garbage in open spaces or surroundings for so many years. Once I even had a fight with my mother because she threw plastic in an open area when we went for a tour.
You can’t say that only you stopping this bad habit will not do any good. You do it right and make others also do. Your children will learn from you. At least we will have an eco-conscious future generation. I remember excerpts from the speech made by then President Mr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam in a school in Bangalore. He talked about the Indian society’s attitude of throwing garbage in public roads and how an Indian can change when he lands on a foreign country. Mr.Kalam added that changing ourselves first is very important before blaming others. I loved the article during my studies and it really inspired me.
I was a part of the Clean India project in our school which conducted regular classes to increase environmental awareness among students. I changed a lot during that time and became more conscious about environment from that time only.
Till now, I continue to bring home the wrapper even if I have a chocolate. I switch on lights whenever I can. I try my maximum to use water cautiously. I don’t throw plastic anywhere. Because EARTH IS GIVING US THIS MUCH. WE SHOULD GIVE SOMETHING BACK.
